Day Trips Old

Family day trips that we have been on, up until 2006

Album: Lake Mountain

July 2004 - Lake Mountain

A visit to the snow at Lake Mountain with Connor and his friend David, Caitlin, Catherine and I, travelling with us, with also David, Dee and Madison travelling up as well.

Lake mountain is 90 kms from home and the closest sub Alpine Resort to Melbourne.

March 2003 - Walhalla

Catherine, Caitlin and I took the opportunity of the good weather to take a visit to Walhalla

Walhalla is a historic town 155 kms from home which after the discovery of gold in 1863 Walhalla thrived as one of Australia's richest towns with over 4000 people living in the area at its peak in the 1880s. When gold ran out in 1914 the decline was rapid, and for most of the 20th century Walhalla was frozen in time.

Electricity was only connected in 1998, but now many of its original features are being faithfully restored and opened to visitors.

Album: Point Lonsdale

January 2003 - Point Lonsdale

Catherine (who was 8 months pregnant with Caitlin), Connor and I made our way to the beach at Point Lonsdale.

Point Lonsdale is located on an outcrop which forms the western head of Port Phillip Bay opposite Point Nepean and In between is the Rip where the calm waters of the bay meet the turbulent waters of Bass Strait.

Album: Point Leo
